Footsteps In The Sand

One night a man had a dream.He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before himhe looked back, at the footprints in the sand.He noticed that many times along the path of his lifethere was only one set of footprints.He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you,you'd walk with me all the way.But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my lifethere is only one set of footprints.I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you,During your times of trial and suffering,when you see only one set of footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you."

Gods Promises

God has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us. He doesn't promise that we will never have problems or difficulties or even tragedy in our lives. But He does promise that He will be right there with us in the midst of the storm. If we allow Him to, He will carry us through the deep times and be our footsteps in the sand.

Jesus promised, "Cast your burdens on Me for I care for you>"

What a wonderful word for us when life is too much to bear. God never intended for us to carry the heavy loads of pain and sorrow that we try to bear without Him.

Are you going through a divorce? I've been there.

The Lord was right there with me, even when I was too hurt and angry to realize it. Later, when I turned to Jesus, He showed me His footsteps in the sand of my life, and provided all I needed to get through the situation.

Have you lost a loved one? I've been there.

My beloved son died tragically as a young man, but I felt the comfort and strength of the Lord throughout those horrible days and months, because I turned to Him in my sorrow.

Have you been abused? I have.

It took me lots of time to reach out to God, but when I did He was right there, and as I've taken the time to walk in the Word (God's Word is the Bible), and to follow in His footprints, He has provided everything I've needed - even the strength and peace to forgive my tormenter!

Are you in desperate financial need? Yes, I've been there too.

And, I am so grateful for food pantries, and the person who slipped an anonymous gift into an offering plate with my name on it!

No matter what the circumstance, God has always been there for me, and provided what I've needed - often at the last minute!

From Footprints In The Sand To Cloud Pictures, all of life is an analogy of the love of the One who created all of life. As the Master Designer, He is able to meet all our needs.

"God works ALL things together for good to those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Just as Jesus was there in the boat with his friends to calm the sudden violent storm, so He is also in the boat with you and will provide all you need for whatever you are going through.

God is the only One who has all the wisdom and strength you need to take that next step. Look for His footsteps in the sand of your life. Let Him carry you. Lean on Him. "We are weak, but He is strong." And, He loves you more than you can ever know.
